CAPABLE-Nepal
The aims of this project is to formalize our capacity-building contribution to our partners in Nepal. Our action in capacity building in Nepal was started, thanks to a partnership initiated, at the beginning of our monitoring project of Mera Glacier in 2007 and high Dudh Koshi river, developed during the long-term visit of P. Wagnon in ICIMOD (2012-2016) and officialised in 2017 with the creation of the JEAI HIMALICE. JEAI HIMALICE has played a significant contribution to strengthening the Master and PhD program in mountain hydrology and meteorology offered by CDHM-TU, Nepal. The project will strengthen our South-North partnership in the field of high elevation glacio-meteo-hydrology research and officialise our implication in the capacity building in Nepal. We will take benefit of a long term collaboration with a former PhD student (Farooq Azam, ARTS fellowship, PhD in 2014) trained in our team who will participate in the project through teaching missions from India to Nepal.
